Donovaly was one of the first modernised ski resorts in Slovakia and quickly became a well-known winter tourist site. It is situated in the central part of Slovakia, not far away from the town Banská Bystrica. From Bratislava it takes only 2 hours driving by car to reach this known Slovak ski resort. As it offers a large number of open-air activities during the whole winter season, Donovaly ski resort is especially recommended for young people.
A /Arrival:
Take a car and drive across Germany, Czech Republic or Poland (by motorway it is only 330 km from Prague in the Czech Republic to Bratislava) or take a plane to Vienna (Austria) or to Bratislava. From the Vienna airport – Schwechat, you can rent a car or take a train or a bus to Bratislava. (there are many transport possibilities between the both neighbouring capitals – the distance between Vienna and Bratislava is only 60 km). From Bratislava to the town Banská Bystrica it is circa 220 km.

All ski routes are special created, out of which 7 km could be artificially snowed.

Total length of cross-country skiing tracks: 46 km.

1/ Apartment Guest House „Safran“
Description: The new built Safran apartment guest house offers accommodation which correspond to a standard of a three star hotel. Apartments are with full equipped kitchen (among others refrigerator), toilet and bathroom, TV, radio, bed-room and living-room. Size of apartments vary from 2 to 8 persons. There is a pantry-room for ski equipment.
Apartment-guest house is situated only circa 50 meters from the main ski-lift to Nová Hoľa, which is the largest ski track at Donovaly. At the same time apartment-rooms are situated very close to the centre of Donovaly, where you can find a posthouse, cash mashines, apres ski, restaurants and a supermarket.
Accommodation includes free parking outside the guest house and free entrance to swimming pool – 2 hours daily. Sauna, massage, solarium and billiard board are also available for guests.
Towels and bed linen are in each apartment.
Meals: Boarding at the restaurant belonging to the guest house. Meal is not included in accommodations price. You have a possibility to order breakfast, full or half board.

2/ Sport Hotel Donovaly****
Description: Sport Hotel Donovaly is regarded to be one of the best hotels in Donovaly. It is the four stars hotel situated in the centre of Donovaly ski resort, at a distance of 150 meters from the ski-lifts.
Sport Hotel Donovaly offers accommodation in rooms for 1,2,3,4 persons. Hotel rooms are equipped with toilet and bathroom, TV, radio, telephone, internet, minibar and refrigerator. All hotel rooms have floor heating. The rooms have non-barrier facilities.
The hotel has own restaurant, café, night-bar with disco. At your disposal are also swimming pool, sauna, Jakuzzi, fitness centre and solarium as well as diverse massage treatments.
Sport Hotel Donovaly offers also hairdresser and beauty salon, souvenir shop as well as rent a car.
Free outdoor parking is very close to the hotel.
