SKIING IN SLOVAKIA for individuals and groups
Slovakia as a mountainous country offers good conditions for skiing and other winter activities. There are facilities for both cross-country skiing as well as downhill skiing. The ski resorts which are enlisted in our tourist offer have been modernised and provide diverse services of high quality. Among them five stars ski resorts can be found too. They belong to the top quality ski resorts on a national ranking list introduced in 2003. Other ski resorts are rather suitable for beginners or for familly with children.
Besides artificially snowed tracks you can find in Slovakia other special winter sport facilities such as: snowparks for snowboarders and snow funparks for children.

1. Donovaly – Snow ParkThe ski resort Donovaly is one of the best places for cross-country skiing in Slovakia. This winter sport area is situated in Veľká Fatra Mountains, close to the National Park of Low Tatras. It has about 50 km well maintained cross-country skiing tracks. Donovaly is a very popular ski resort thank its modern infrastructure and a range of numerous winter sport facilities. Besides cross-country and downhill skiing, Donovaly offers many open-air activities which are especially suitable for the young people. For example you can enjoy freestyle skiing, paragliding, parachute jamping and snowboard facilities - 600 m of well maintained snowboard downhill, FunparkJumps, FunparkBox, FunparkCorner and freeride snowboarding. There are also excellent conditions for night skiing with over 1,2 km of illuminated slopes. For the visitors there are other winter atractions as: disco on ice, skating on ice-rinks and many other. In the winter season 2005/2006 the Donovaly ski resort got a new chair-lift for 6 persons and cabin-lift for 8 persons. There are also another 2 cableways and 14 chair-lifts at your disposal .

2. Kubinska hola ski resortKubínska hoľa is the name of the village where the well-known ski resort of Orava region (Oravská Magura Mountains – altitude 720 - 1396 meters) and of West Tatras (Západné Tatry) is situated. The ski resort offers not only good conditions for skiing but also many beautiful sights of Orava region. As the Orava region is situated in the very northern part of Slovakia, the ski resort Kubínska hoľa is open for visitors from beginning of December to end of March.
Downhill ski tracks are situated on the southern slope of Kubínska Hoľa and its total length is 3,8 km. This route offers good skiing conditions also for advanced skiers. In the ski resort you can also find a fun park for snowboarders with a large number of artificial jibbs or enjoy skiing on easy and low-shaped slopes.
